Rules and Procedures
- All NJCAA rules shall apply with the following exceptions:
- Unlimited substitutions apply with no stoppage of game clock.
- Playing squads are limited to 25 players.
- The NJCAA 2007 Soccer Game Roster Form must be certified and signed by the regional director, as part of the entry process for the NJCAA national tournament. Failure to do so will result in sanctions to be determined by the NJCAA soccer committee.
- Any player receiving a yellow card (caution) must leave the game for a substitute.
She may return to the game at the next legal substitution point. - All tied games will follow provisions for tournament games with a game the next day, as outlined in current NCAA rules. (NJCAA Handbook, Section 5.A.4, pg. 114)
- The official tournament ball is the official Baden NJCAA ball.
- Teams are limited to not more than twenty-five (25) players. These players must be identified in the scorebook before the start of the first game and on an approved roster. The roster will contain the name, numbers, and accumulated cautions of all squad members. The roster must be submitted to the NJCAA soccer chair or her designee prior to the first game of the tournament. No deletions or additions may be made after this time. A player who is part of her teams roster of 25, whose name is not listed in the scorebook, will be removed from the game at the point the omission is discovered.
- Roster numbers and jerseys must be checked and verified prior to the start of the Tournament. Players found wearing incorrect numbers will be removed from the game until the problem is corrected. Players not listed on the roster, found participating in the game will be removed at that point and will not be allowed to participate in subsequent games.
- Games will be played on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, with each team playing a minimum of two games. No games will be played on Saturday.
- The top team in the bracket will wear light uniforms and have the choice of bench.
- The Tournament Director shall be responsible for securing the field officials in conjunction with the NJCAA Soccer Committee. The Soccer Committee will communicate to all tournament officials the differences between NCAA and NJCAA rules. A game once begun is in the hands of the field officials. The two person or diagonal system of refereeing may be used. The system chosen by the Tournament Director must remain constant throughout the event. Only NISOA officials may be used in the tournament.
- All videotaping must be handled through the Tournament Director.
- The tournament has assigned lodging for this event. All participating colleges must honor the assignment or pay for those rooms. (NJCAA Handbook Section 12, page 112.)
- In the event of inclement weather or other circumstances beyond the control of the tournament director that prevent games from being completed on a given day, the suspended games will be resumed from the point of suspension on the following day and the game and time schedule will adjust accordingly. If for any reason, a team must play more than 90 minutes after a suspended game is resumed, they will not be required to play again in that day.
